Petits Salons Presents: A Conversation with Boots Riley and Natasha Braier
On Monday, April 27th, Petits Salons hosted a conversation with Boots Riley and Natasha Braier to discuss their upcoming film, I Love Boosters.
I Love Boosters is an absurdist comedy that follows a group of shoplifters who steel high-end fashion and resell it at discounts. When they take aim at a cutthroat CEO, it escalates into a battle of class-struggle. Similar to Boots Riley’s past film, Sorry to Bother You (2019), the film explores anti-capitalist rhetoric through social satire.
Starring Keke Palmer, Naomi Ackie, Taylour Paige, Poppy Liu, Eiza Gonzalez, Lakeith Stanfield, Will Poulter, with Don Cheadle and Demi Moore. I Love Boosters will be released by NEON on May 22nd.
Co-hosted by NEON and American Cinematographer, premier trade magazine on cinematography published by the ASC.
Doors opened at 7pm with live music. Following the music, we headed out to the fire deck for the Q&A with Boots and Natasha, where they shared their experience collaborating on their upcoming film. Afterwards, we screened The Rover, a film Natasha was the cinematographer on, to get to view her gorgeous work.
Petits Salons is an ongoing collaboration between Petit Ermitage, Cheshire Moon Productions, and Blkbrd Films. Don’t miss out on this very special evening and unique opportunity to network with fellow arthouse film lovers!
**This screening included an in-person Q&A with filmmaker Boots Riley and cinematographer Natasha Braier, co-hosted by NEON, American Cinematographer, and the ASC.
