Petits Salons Presents: Satyrica

This Petits Salons is a special one — get ready for a pool party, tap dancing, and burlesque!

On October 20th, we had a classic hedonistic old Hollywood pool party ushering in a new Garden of Allah. The kind of night where Marlene Dietrich would swim nude or F. Scott Fitzgerald could party while Zelda was in a sanitarium.

The night began with live music from the iconic Glüme who joined us for the second time. With synth-pop torch songs, Rolling Stone called her sound “eerie and Lynchian… the kind of tracks made for driving around LA at night.” Perfect for this city. Perfect for Petits Salons.

After the musical performance, we went out to the fire deck for our screening of Satyrica. Amid the glamor of a film empire at its height, two performers, Bette and Rita, find the ennui of decadence tends toward petty cruelty, and even love may be an insufficient antidote, just another snake bite oil cure. Original Musical Screenplay by Viola Odette Harlow — otherwise known as Glüme.

Tap dancing, burlesque, and a pool party accompanied the screening, a brand new old Hollywood musical with beautiful girls tap dancing and handsome men crooning. “It Girl” Clara Bow was notorious for pushing men off the diving boards. Wear your finest or nothing at all. A night to remember - or forget.

**This screening included a Q&A with Viola Odette Harlow, who is both our musical guest and the writer/star of Satyrica.

Scene House Official Selection: Evolution Mallorca International Film Festival

We are thrilled to share that Scene House will Premiere next week in Spain at Evolution Mallorca International Film Festival!

A huge thank you to Sandra Seeling, festival founder and director. The festival has a long history of distinguished committee members including Ruben Ostlund and Mads Mikkelson. The Scene House frenzy has set in, and we are here for it!

The festival runs from October 21st-29th in Palma de Mallorca, Spain. Evolution Mallorca’s mission is “BRIDGING CULTURES - BRIDGING PEOPLE” via international film, building a strong community of independent filmmakers to come together and thrive. Their 2025 program will feature over 150 films, their largest to date.

Cheshire Moon Productions, has screened at Evolution Mallorca previously, celebrating In Her Name at the festival in 2022. While attending in Mallorca, Sarah was also featured in the Finding Your Feet in the International Film Market Panel alongside Kim Magnusson, an industry titan with two Academy Awards under his belt. Magnusson won for his producing work on two separate short films, Helium and Election Night.

Scene House takes place in a dystopian future where actors live as exhibits for Observers. One begins to question reality, blurring lines between performance and truth. Scene House will screen in the “Future Vision” Shorts Block on Thursday, October 23rd at 6pm in Cineciutat Sala 2. Click the link below to get your tickets today!
