Petits Salons Presents: Requiem for a Dream

Another Monday, another magic night on the Petit Ermitage rooftop. Petits Salons is back with another night of film and music under the stars.

On Monday, September 22nd, we screened Darren Aronofsky's cult classic REQUIEM FOR A DREAM, introduced by producer Eric Watson. Heavy. Iconic. A trip you don’t come back from the same.

Before that, the one and only Glüme opened the night with a musical performance. With synth-pop torch songs, Rolling Stone called her sound “eerie and Lynchian… the kind of tracks made for driving around LA at night.” Perfect for this city. Perfect for Petits Salons.

Glüme’s lived nine lives before most of us even got started — child star chaos, stage-mom horror stories, pills, heartbreak, Hollywood weirdness — and still she shines. Her music is raw, cinematic, and completely her own.

After Glüme’s performance, we spilled out onto the fire deck for the screening for Requiem for a Dream. After the screening, we had a Q&A with producer Eric Watson. Watson produced Requiem for a Dream with Aronofsky as well as Pi and The Fountain. Watson discussed making this groundbreaking film with Aronofsky in their 20s while running around New York City. It was a masterclass on bold indie filmmaking!
